We now welcome abstracts for consideration for EcotoxicoMic 2024, to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden from 12 - 14 November 2024

All abstracts with topics corresponding to the conference sessions are welcome.

General information

  1. Abstracts are required for all oral presentations and posters.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted by 31 May 2024 (23:59 CET).
  3. Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  4. Each presenter can only give one oral presentation at the conference.
  5. Each presenter can present as many posters as wished.
  6. When submitting the abstract the presenter will have to choose a session. Please note that the fact that a session is included in the call for abstracts does not guarantee that this session will be programmed at the meeting. Depending on the number of abstracts received, the Programme Committee will decide to accept, merge or cancel the session. In the latter case, the Programme Committee will suggest moving your abstract to another session.
  7. Early Career Scientists may apply for a  FEMS Early Career Scientist Meeting Grant and a Young Research AwardWhen submitting the abstract the presenter will have to provide the documentation related to the FEMS grant as supplementary information.
  8. GPLF grant is available for students and researchers from countries with low- and moderate-income economies.  When submitting the abstract, the presenter must provide the documentation related to the GPLF grant as supplementary information.
  9. Accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website. By submitting an abstract you consent to give ECOTOXICOMIC 2024 permission to publish your abstract.
  10. Withdrawal of abstracts can only be accepted if notified in writing and subsequently confirmed by the ECOTOXICOMIC 2024 Conference Organisers.
  11. Presenting authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection of their abstract in the summer of 2024.
  12. The presenting author must be registered for the meeting by August 30, 2024. Accepted abstracts from presenters not having registered by this date will be cancelled and excluded from the programme.

  • Microbial roles in contaminant fate and bioremediation
  • Microorganisms as a tool for environmental risk assessment
  • Antimicrobials resistance in the environment
  • Microbiome-aware ecotoxicology of animals
  • Occurrence, properties, fate, and microbial ecotoxicology of natural toxins

 Content of your abstract

  1. The abstract should include a title (max. 200 characters without spaces, not in caps)
  2. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of the author(s), their affiliation and addresses when you submit your abstract online.
  3. The Surname of the presenting author has to be underlined, and his/her e-mail indicated.
  4. The abstract word limit is max. 300 words per abstract.
  5. Keywords: between 3 to 5
  6. You should indicate in your abstract if the presenting author is a PhD student, a post-doc (< 5 years after PhD) or a senior researcher. 
  7. You will be asked to enter if the presenting author wants to apply to  (multiple choice is possible):
    • FEMS Early Career Scientist Meeting Grant
    • Young Research Award
    • GPLF Grant
